2021 Show Information

Shows start @ 9 am
ENTRY FEES- single judged show: $8 per class for members, $10 per class non-members, double judged show: $15 per class per member, $20 per non-member
Day End Awards: Hi-Pt Adult Performance, Hi-Pt Youth A and B Division Performance, Hi-Pt Green Horse, Hi-Pt Adult Driving, Hi-Pt Youth(combined) Driving, Hi-Pt Green Horse Driving
-Open to all miniature horses 38" and under, registered or non-registered
-Must have copy of current Coggins - NO EXCEPTIONS - Copy will be kept on file for the show year.

The following forms need completed and submitted to the show booth on show day:
1. Horse/Exhibitor Information Form: This form needs completed only ONE TIME, to be kept on file for the current show season. 
2. MDMHA Year End Point Sign Up Form: This form needs completed only ONE TIME, to be kept on file for the current show season. This form is for the Year End Awards, if not participating: you do not need to fill this out.
3. Class Entry Form: Entry forms need completed at every show for each class entered. One entry form per class per Horse/Exhibitor.

Important Information:
  1.  Horse/Exhibitor Numbers: Numbers will be given at the first show of the season. If you are a returning member and have a number between 001 - 300, please continue using that number 
  2. Exhibitor Substitutions: NO POINTED EXHIBITOR SUBSTITUTIONS WILL BE PERMITTED AT ANY SHOW UNLESS IT IS FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS: acute illness or injury, unforeseen surgery or hospitalization, or a personal/family emergency (birth, death, etc.) In the event an exhibitor change, points WILL NOT be transferred unless it falls under the stated reasons as listed. 
  3. Show Cancellation: Cancellation of a show will be posted at least 12 hours before the show. Please contact the MDMHA President, Lorraine Eisenhuth, if you have any questions or confirming a cancellation.
  4. Show Attire and Equipment: Showmanship classes require proper Showmanship outfit, if no outfit proper attire includes jacket/blazer (long sleaves) gloves, boots, and hat. hats, jackets, and gloves are optional for halter classes. Sneakers are allowed for running and timed events, such as hunter/jumper classes. Helmets are required to be worn by any youth 17 and under in class requiring the youth to ride or drive. Whips are required in all driving classes and must be in hand at all times. 
  5. Patterns: AMHR Showmanship patterns will be used, with the pattern being posted before the show starts. All trail, hunter/jumper, and barrel patterns will be posted before 9am. No copies will be given as it is the handlers responsibility to copy.


Point System:

These are MDMHA points and are not reconized by the AMHR  

  • 1st place: 6 pts
  • 2nd place: 5 pts
  • 3rd place: 4 pts
  • 4th place: 3 pts
  • 5th place: 2 pts
  • 6th place: 1 pt


Day End Awards: Based upon the number of points acquired during the day in Performance classes. The award is given to the Adult, Youth A, Youth B, and Green Horse with the highest day end points in performance classes combined.  All exhibitors are eligible, including any non-member, who shows that day. Day End Award winners will be annouced at the end of the show day.
